Century Casinos Expands Footprint in Missouri with New Hotel and Casino Developments

Century Casinos recently marked the debut of their newest Missouri establishment – the River View Hotel in Cape Girardeau. This freshly constructed, six-floor hotel has a direct connection to Century Casino Cape Girardeau and features 69 guest rooms within its expansive 68,000 square feet. The company fully financed this $3.05 million endeavor.

The excitement doesn’t stop there! Century Casinos is also making substantial headway on another Missouri initiative – a completely new casino and hotel development in Caruthersville. This project is moving forward as scheduled, with an estimated cost of approximately $51.9 million. Construction commenced in December 2022, and the goal is to welcome guests in the final quarter of 2024.

Vici Properties is providing the financial support for the Caruthersville endeavor. Upon completion, they will hold ownership of the property and lease it to Century Casinos through a long-term arrangement.

These actions are part of a broader plan for Century Casinos, following their recent divestiture of some Canadian assets for $1.624 billion at the close of 2023. With these new ventures, Century Casinos is clearly signaling its dedication to growing its footprint in the Midwest gaming sector.

Century Gaming has opted to unlock capital by entering into a sale-leaseback agreement with Vici Properties for its Canadian holdings. This furthers their mutually beneficial collaboration, enabling them to reduce liabilities and explore fresh prospects.
