Crown Sydney Opens Doors to High-Rollers with Launch of Crystal Room Casino

The luxurious gaming area at Crown Sydney is now welcoming patrons, having operated solely as a non-gaming venue for the past eighteen months. While the Mahogany floor, designated for high-stakes gaming, is slated for completion in October 2022, the primary gaming space, known as the Crystal Room, is prepared to receive visitors.

The Barangaroo casino features 160 tables and 66 electronic table games within the Crystal Room, with plans for an extra 30 private rooms on the Mahogany floor. This upscale venue, designed for high-limit players, has a $20 minimum wager and excludes slot machines entirely.

Enrolling in the Crown Rewards program, which is free, is the sole requirement for membership. Access to the Crystal Room will initially be available to current Black and Platinum Crown Rewards members and their companions, with Gold Crown Rewards members gaining entry at a subsequent time.

This launch comes on the heels of separate investigations in New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia last year that deemed Crown unfit to retain any of its casino licenses within the nation. These investigations arose from allegations of Crown’s associations with junket organizers connected to influential Asian criminal organizations and the company’s inadequate handling of individuals struggling with gambling addiction.

Weve been eyeing a complete launch for the public come October,” remarked Simon McGrath, Chief Executive of Crown Barangaroo. “For now, our concentration is on expanding our roster of members.”

“Registrations have been quite positive, surpassing our projections. I anticipate a rapid acceleration in momentum. However, it’s paramount that our approach prioritizes safety and responsibility.”
