Love the Game, Not the Odds: Sydney Swans Champion Responsible Gambling in AFL

The Sydney Swans, a prominent Australian rules football team, have partnered with the New South Wales Office of Responsible Gambling to encourage a balanced approach to enjoying the sport. This program, known as “Love the Game, Not the Odds,” seeks to return the emphasis to the passion for the game.

This collaboration will endeavor to cultivate a more welcoming atmosphere for families at matches, devoid of advertisements related to sports wagering. The Swans are dedicated to educating their personnel and athletes about the possible risks associated with gambling. Sydney Swans CEO Tom Harley expressed the club’s pride in contributing to the reduction of reliance on gambling income within the sport.

Macarthur FC has also aligned with this endeavor, aspiring to nurture a positive and healthy way of life within their community. Both clubs view this as a crucial measure in safeguarding the well-being of their members, supporters, and the broader public.

Weve finalized significant partnerships with four leading sports entities, shortly following our agreement with cricket. Natalie Wright, director of the Responsible Gaming department, stated that this truly demonstrates that teams are increasing their efforts and acknowledging their duty to care for their supporters and contribute to society.
