A prominent online betting platform, Betway, is significantly investing in the ESL Pro League’s 2017 season as the primary sponsor. This isn’t just any Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition; it’s Season 6, with fourteen top-tier teams from Europe and North America competing for a substantial $1 million prize. The matches will occur online every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, leading to a final showdown in Odense, Denmark, from December 8th to 10th.
This collaboration is significant for Betway. They plan to incorporate their live odds feature, a major success at ESL One Cologne earlier this year, into the ESL Pro League broadcasts. Betway’s dedication to ethical esports practices is evident through their membership in the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) since 2016.
Anthony Werkman, Betway’s Director of Marketing and Operations, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are eager to witness the world’s premier CS:GO teams compete for the ESL Pro League championship and the largest portion of the prize money.” He emphasized the positive reception of their live odds integration at ESL One Cologne, underscoring their commitment to supporting tournaments and teams in the future.
