New Jersey Gambling Revenue Soars in December

The New Jersey gambling authority, the NJDGE, has published a report revealing that gambling income rose by 8.9% annually in December. Gamblers placed nearly a billion dollars on sports wagers that month.

Overall earnings for the month were $312.9 million, a rise from $287.3 million in December 2019.

Sports betting income in December reached $66.4 million, a 125.6% jump from 2019. Total player stakes hit $996.3 million, a 78.6% increase from the previous year. Of this, $929.3 million was placed online, while $67 million was wagered at physical locations.

FanDuel and PointsBet were the leading sports betting operators at the Meadowlands in December, generating $33.2 million in revenue. Resorts Digital and DraftKings came in second with $15.4 million, followed by Borgata with $7.5 million.

Online gambling income for the month was $99.5 million, a 101.6% increase from December 2019. Internet casino and slot game earnings for the month were $96.4 million, with online poker winnings at $3 million.
